Terry’s favorite beach: Elbow Beach on Bermuda. My family traveled from New York to Bermuda on a cruise and spent several days on the pink sand and clear blue water of Bermuda, taking the advantage of the opportunity to go snorkeling to see the beautiful fish making the reef of this island their home.
Terry has more than 30 years of health care leadership experience with a proven history of combining industry expertise, leadership, creativity, and collaboration to drive excellence in solution innovation, operational execution, and organizational improvement. These outcomes have been the centerpieces in each leadership position Terry has held in companies such as McKesson, UnitedHealth Group, Change Healthcare, Apixio/Centene, and now BeneLynk. As BeneLynk’s Chief Product Officer, Terry synthesizes the voice of the customer, market feedback with regulatory requirements and emerging trends to execute a meaningful roadmap, drive innovation to a vision, and maximize customer success.
Terry has been recognized for his focus on the core tenants: Innovation, Collaboration, Customer Success. In 2012, he was awarded an OptumInsight Innovation award in recognition of his leadership on the Care Pattern Analysis solution. This innovation enabled clinicians and medical directors to conduct meaningful coaching discussions with providers that would reduce cost by decreasing variations in care.
In 2013, the Certified HEDIS solution, for which Terry provided Product Management leadership was the recipient of the Gartner award for demonstrating best practices in dashboard design for HEDIS reporting.
In addition, in 2013 Terry was the recipient of the 2013 Optum Innovation Leadership Shadow Award which recognizes individuals who consistently support Optum’s innovation culture in their daily work and inspire innovation in others through their leadership shadow.
Terry also sponsored three quality management solution patents as co-inventor. In 2020 and 2021 Terry was directly responsible for designing, developing, and integrated two new solutions into the Apixio portfolio, accounting for over $3 million of revenue in just the first seven months of their release.
Sharing a Few Thoughts
From my experience, over the years, culture is a critical element of company success. It can unleash the potential of team members, and the entire organization. Culture builds success and promotes growth. I am blessed to join the BeneLynk team, a team that has worked together for many years to establish a cohesive and productive culture -- a culture that values performance, innovation, and customer success in a collaborative framework. I am very happy to work at an organization focused on ensuring that clients and their members receive the maximum benefits for which they are eligible.
My personal ethos that contributes to this culture is to perform with both great humility and great boldness. Boldness to own the definition, the evolution, and actions necessary to achieve success for my internal and external customers. But also being humble to ensure that there are no barriers in listening to the needs of the customers/market, to welcome opportunities to approach solutions differently more effectively, and to emphasize collaboration to achieve success together.
